The 2006-2007 winter
was relatively
mild and low humidity.
The green harvest began in June in the Domaine de l'Amauve. All the young vines and some oldest vines were concerned. The crop was important that year and the weather in May and June, because of the rains gave bigger berries. Up to 5 people were working in the vineyard for this crucial operation because regulating the crop, give early ripening, more tannin content, more aroma and more color in the skin of the berry. Green harves ends July 14. The true harvest began
August 27th
with the earlyest white grapes (grenache blanc and
Viognier). The weather
was very hot and we were obliged to pick only in the
morning to bring cool
grapes to the cellar.
Subsequently, the winemaking went well for both whites and red wines. Because of all these
growing conditions
I can tell you we have an excellent 2007 vintage at
Domaine de l'Amauve.
The sales of our first
vintage (2006)
are going well.
