Winter 2011 -
2012 has been
cold and dry. The beginning of February is cold with
temperatures remain
between 17 and 10 ° F for two weeks and are accompanied by
a strong
mistral with gusts reach 100 km / hour.
This cold period is not without consequences on the vine. Many buds were destroyed totally or partially and occasionally many old feet froze. . Spring is cool and wet. Rain can recharge groundwater. The vine is well supplied with water for the next summer. . Our region has had a very dry summer in 2012, unlike the rest of France has suffered waves of depression, freshness and rain. The summer of 2012 gave us hot temperatures and was punctuated by two weeks of heat wave mid-August. . The harvest begins August 24th and ends September 13th at Domaine de l'Amauve. It is still a early years. The grapes were perfect. The harvest is small because of the freezing winter, the coulure on Grenache and the drought in summer. The fermentations are running quietly. The white wines have good acidity and already a very nice aromatic expression. The red wines have a deep color with purple tints, a nice tannic structure and a beautiful expression of fruit. At this stage of winemaking, this vintage seems to be similar to 2010, with plenty of fruit expression, a great tannic concentration and a great finesse of the tannins. . In 2012, the harvester's team was with : Monique, Claudine, Martine, Thomas, Cindy, Alvaro, Nicolas, Céline, Guillaume, Patrick, Mohamed, Guy, Thomas. . |
